McKenzie's Latest Tricks
I thought since we've been able to catch so many of her new talents on camera, I should make a post out of it. She craves attention and is figuring out life at what seems like an accelerated rate.Joshua and I believe she is the oldest 3 month old ever and is no longer a baby but now a little girl!
Of course, the best and cutest trick lately is this tongue smile she gives us! Her personality is coming out more and more, especially this last week. :)
This is probably Joshua's favorite trick, he can prop her up and she will stay there and just drool and smile at him. He's really good at getting a genuine smile out of her. :)
Kenzie enjoys having everything and anything in her mouth, she just can't grab or maneuver as well as she would like. But she found a way to hold on to one toy in order to keep the teether in place.
This girl loves to use her muscles! I let her stand there and then realized I didn't have to hang on to her, she's now obsessed with standing on the couch! :) She will wine if we take her away too soon.
The friendship displayed from the previous picture with "Z" on facebook is looking unstable. We're thinking McKenzie is going to be a carnivore for sure! And prefers the endangered meat. :)
I put McKenzie on the couch with her binkie in her mouth, left the room for about 10 seconds, and came back to find her confused as to where her binkie went!
So there's a few of the new things Kenzie can do! Joshua is working on posting the awesome laughing video so that will probably be up this weekend. :)

Pure Joy!
You know those moments when the world literally melts away and all your focus settles on those important people in your life. Last Thursday, Mom and Katie were over at my house and as they were leaving, they were saying goodbye to McKenzie and they got her to laugh! Not just make noise but really laugh! It was a true giggle! It was at that moment when my heart leaped for joy. Kenzie will smile for Mom and Katie and talk to them like she does for Josh and I. It must be the dark hair and big smiles :) That and our voices are basically the same. In this picture, I think she emulates the Foster side of the family with her carefree smile and relaxed demeanor. She's looking more like a Foster all the time. :) It's so amazing that I get to watch this little girl grow up and feel her vibrant spirit in my home. She has a very strong personality already.
She's already so strong! Her neck can hold up her rather large head really well. She gets tummy time after almost every feeding to help the burps come up and it's really paid off! I happened to be taking pictures of Kenzie and then she surprised me with a leap of development! (Sorry no sound again, I would blast your ears anyway because I'm cheering at the top of my lungs and then enthusiastically congratulating her.)
Can you believe it?! I couldn't! I half expected her to push up to her knees and then stand up, walk over, and hug me! She's looking so grown up! When Joshua came home, I didn't show him the video, I just put Kenzie on her tummy and she did it again! Josh's jaw dropped, he was really surprised. He kept saying, "Oh wow?!". We have another video of her laughing hysterically for Josh, and this one has sound! I'll have to post it later when we upload all the video from the actual video camera :)

This is how we "wind down" McKenzie for the night. Josh has to wrap her because if I do, we find her at 2am all unwrapped. Believe it or not she was actually grumpy just before this! Josh is awesome :)
(Sorry there's no sound, my little camera doesn't always record the sound, She's not saying a lot, just smiling, and Josh says "Say good night to all your fans Kenzie" at the end.)
McKenzie is 3 months tomorrow and face-planting!!!

The First Post !!
I thought I would never blog, but I've realized how much I want to share my family happenings with everyone, especially now that we have a cute bundle of joy! Plus, it's almost like writing in my journal, and this way, it will never get lost unless the internet is destroyed.
To play catch up a bit, Joshua and I have been adjusting to life as parents and it's been a rewarding challenge. We've been taking it one step at a time and thankfully, it's been really convenient because I don't have to work and can stay home with Kenzie. We've really enjoyed her, she makes missing lots of sleep worth it.
--Joshua is excited to wrap up this semester and start his new spring classes. He just finished his class to become an EMT. Now he just has to take the test and he will be able to help save lives! Woo hoo! He's learning sign language and signs all the time, literally :) He loves it! He's getting really good at it and he's teaching me as he goes. Our poor kids will have to endure secret code signs between their parents as we talk about them! Muah ah ah! Josh has been an amazing husband! He has taken such good care of me, especially right before and after Kenzie was born. He even took a lighter load this semester so he could be home more which has meant a whole lot to me and has made a huge difference.
--I've been avoiding becoming bored by spicing up the house with new picture arrangements, bedspreads, cleaning out and organizing everything in sight! Because I'll admit I belong to organizational-freaks anonymous. I've been taking the Kenzinator on walks and doing yoga and trying very hard to remember to eat during the day. :) Don't worry, I've been getting a lot better :) I've also started another blog that deals more with practicing the healthy habits while raising a family. I see all these women who I know are super busy, yet they're strong, fit, and eat very well despite their many kids and/or busy schedules. So that blog is at realhealthforever.blogspot.com if you'd like to check it out. I haven't posted just yet, I'm still working on it but I'm really excited because someday I could turn those postings into a book! Anyways, I'm doing really well and am excited about life!
--McKenzie is so cute! She's always looking around and studying her world. It's really easy to get her to smile and giggle. She's getting a lot stronger and 'talks' a lot. She LOVES her mirror we have on her play gym. She's becoming more animated and has found her hands! She can also lift her head off the ground and push off her arms. :) We think she might be teething because she's been crying in her sleep, drooling non stop, and trying to suck on anything she can. But she's a trooper! And a very chillax baby.
So that is our very condensed update on our family, and I'll post pictures when I figure out how to do that. :)
