After months of finding bits of office materials strewn all over the house, I finally found a way to get the pens, staples, super glue, SD cards and other harmful things out of the drawer and into a safer and yet convenient place.
I got the idea here, instead of making my own (because I can barely keep the clutter under control), I just bought one off amazon here, and it was worth every penny!
Now I can go to the hall closet, which is fairly close to the desk, and spot what I need and grab it. And it's wonderful to have the hubby ask "Where's my small "computer something nerdy word" and I can say, "It's in the closet! Away from Kenzie and her curiousity!"

I got this idea from Parents magazine. I found a container and filled it with baggies of non-perishable snacks. I put the container, along with another container of diapers and wipes in my car. So now I have snacks and diapers wherever I go and can take a baggie, diaper, and wipes in my bag with me into the store or church when I need to.
It has been super handy!

Just moved, boxes still stacked along the wall, still looking for my sewing kit, and hazardous toys all over my living room -- time to call in creative/imaginative forces of the mind and organize!
I saw this coming, I knew I would find myself in a mess with limited furniture and drawer space. So I decided to arm myself and read "Kick the Clutter" by Ellen Phillips before I moved. Not only did it offer endless advice on getting rid of clutter, but also provided a perspective on what stuff should do for you, not the other way around.
Now, even without wonderful floor to ceiling closet shelves in my new house, The clutter is dying down. Slowly but surely.
Besides "Kick the Clutter", another excellent resource I've looked to is organizedhome.com. This site is very inspiring to me because it teaches you how to make a Household Notebook. Gathering all the information in your brain and around your house and put it into one binder. Things like phone numbers, addresses, meal plans, Christmas lists, project lists, food storage inventory, and the like.
I am so excited for this!
I have my phone numbers and addresses and am working on a monthly meal plan that I print out week by week.
I hope my writings on my battle with clutter will help us both continue getting organized.
